About This Organization
Mission Statement
The purpose of United Somalia Alliance, Inc. is organized for but not limited to the social, economical and educational development of the Somali people in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and abroad.
The purpose of this corporation is:
SHORT TERM GOALS
1. Build bridges within the Somali community educationally
a. Annually, Bi-annually or Quarterly discussions/conferences and/or summits with Somali Non-Profits and Community Based Organization’s alike; Promoting Community Cohesiveness.
b. Creating Social Awareness within the Somali Community about the directions of our youth ages 12+ and young adults; inspiring better decision making
i. Create a forum for them to express their social needs: Fostering them through Athletics, After-School Hangouts, and Weekend Events that steer them from assimilating with life on the street.
ii. Promote Youth Activism, Leadership, and Empowerment.
iii. In the long-term, connect Somali youth with scholarships and grants.
MID-TERM GOALS
2. International campaign for Somali Awareness
a. Spreading awareness amongst those unaware of the struggle and plight of the Somali people through Media and Print.
b. Promoting peace, sustainability, human rights and justice through advocacy.
LONG TERM GOALS
3. Developing charitable funds for Somali people in Somalia’s most devastated regions.
4. Research & Development of the Social Problems that plague the Somali Community. Independent Research done by United Somali Alliance, Inc. about the issues Somalis face and solutions.
5. Create mental rehabilitation for Somalis plagued by struggle, effects of war, poverty, drugs, violence, and culture shock in their new environment.
